Through strategic partnerships with competent technical and investment partners, the Ghana Integrated Iron and Steel Development Corporation (GIISDEC) continues to advance its mandate to develop a viable, sustainable iron and steel industry in Ghana.

In line with this objective, GIISDEC has signed a contract with the African Exploration and Mining Group (AEMG) to undertake a Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) on the Bodada Iron Ore Block in the Oti Region.

The exercise represents another significant step in GIISDEC’s efforts to advance the exploration and development of Ghana’s strategic iron ore assets and generate the technical data required to support future investment and development decisions.

The Bodada MRE project is another major MRE activity fully sponsored by the Government of Ghana, following the recently completed exploration and resource evaluation work on the Gyamurume Iron Ore Block. The project demonstrates the Government’s continued commitment to invest in the systematic exploration and development of Ghana’s iron ore resources.

The MRE will involve detailed geological investigations, data analysis, and resource estimation to establish the quantity, quality, and geological characteristics of the iron ore resource within the Bodada Block.

The outcome is expected to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the Bodada Block’s resource potential and serve as an important technical basis for subsequent studies, investment, and development decisions.

The project is part of GIISDEC’s broader programme to unlock Ghana’s iron ore potential, promote value addition, and establish an integrated iron and steel industry.

GIISDEC remains committed to advancing Ghana’s iron ore resources through systematic exploration, strategic partnerships, and sound technical studies to support sustainable industrial development.
