Ghana Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (GHEITI) in collaboration with the International Extractive Transparency Initiative (EITI) secretariate and the Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI) on 27th September 2022  launched a study on Critical Minerals and Energy Transition in Ghana. The program brought together the ministries, agencies, companies, and investors of Ghana’s Minerals, Mining, and Energy sectors.
Speaking on a high-level panel discussion dubbed; Ghana’s Minerals and Energy Transition: Diversification opportunities, Governance Challenges, and Policy Pathways, the CEO of the Ghana Integrated Iron and Steel Development Corporation Mr. Kwabena Bonsu Fordwor mentioned that GIISDEC had made a great move on Local Content participation by attracting and signing MoU’s with more wholly Ghanaian owned companies to undertake MRE on the various iron ore blocks in the Oti region.
He added that the corporation offers fair deals to both foreign and local partners. He called on more private investors – both local and foreign to come on board to promote and develop Ghana’s iron and steel industry.
