Our Mission
Our mission is to promote and develop an integrated iron and steel industry through the formulation and implementation of policies and regulations, exploration and leveraging of public-private investment partnerships and/joint ventures.
Our Mandate
GIISDEC’s mandate under the Act of Parliament Act 2019(Act988) is to:
- Develop and promote an integrated iron and steel industry as enshrined in the Act
- Encourage local content and technology transfer to boost local industrialization
- Ensure equity among local and foreign content
- Ensure a minimum equity of 30% to be held in joint ventures by Ghanaian participants
