As part of the Master Plan Validation/ Review Process, a team from GIISDEC and Consultants from H2 Consult paid a familiarization visit to Star Steels Ghana Limited; An integrated steel manufacturing company based in Prampram in the Greater Accra Region. Star Steels Limited has an installed capacity of 180,000 tons per annum.

The visit focused on getting inputs from Star Steels Limited , getting to know the scope of operations of the company as well as to foster more cordial business working relations, as one of the key players in the iron and steel industry in Ghana .

Management of Star Steels Limited are excited about their partnership with GIISDEC since they can mine iron ore in some few years to come and get same processed in their factory. A backward integration which will witness the processing of iron ore from the mines into Steel.
